The Heart Award is annually given to the player that best exemplifies what it means to be a Marriotts Ridge Mustang. This player goes above and beyond what is expected of him, and is willing to sacrifice individual accolades for the betterment of the team. Dan Sageman is the founder of Marriotts Ridge Lacrosse and remained with the program through 2013. As a head coach, he compiled a 73 & 31 record, while winning two regional titles and one county title. Despite all of his success, Coach Sageman never sought out, nor received, the recognition he deserved. He put the success of the team first, and it is with this mantra that we name this award.
